Fail.

This morning has been a complete failure for me. Epic Fail.

I have been having neck problems for a few days, and turning my neck is quite painful. So when my alarm went off this morning, the last thing I wanted to do was turn my head to see what time it was. I hit snooze instead. 5 times. Brian comes in the room at 6:30 and asks me if I am getting up. I scurry to get ready, get Andrew up and we start his morning routine. This weekend I taught him how to move a chair and climb up to reach food in the pantry, since I couldn't pick him up because my neck hurt so badly. I knew it would come back to haunt me, and now he wants to do it ALL THE TIME. Sigh.

We leave the house 30 minutes late, and I took Andrew to daycare. For some reason he has not been wanting me to leave him at daycare for the past 2 weeks. There is a lot of clinging and crying that happens, and up until today I have been able to stay a while to get him to decling. Today I couldn't and had to literally tear him off me so I could leave. I hate those kinds of mornings. It makes me feel like I am failing as a mom. My kid wants to be with me, but I have chosen to work instead.

I get to work 30 minutes late, where I have to finish up quarter grade cards that are due this morning. Of course I have put them off, and I am scurrying to get things graded and put in the grade program.

It seems like every time I feel like I am getting my act together in some way, it soon becomes plainly obvious that I don't have it together in the slightest bit.

Grading myself today, I fail.

Good Buddies

I just love how Andrew and his friend Joe interact together. Today they walked around the zoo holding hands. This picture makes me think of them 15 years from now, and I could see them making the same poses. Such buddies!

Under Contract

It only took a little over 2 weeks, but we are under contract on our house. It is such a relief to have one part of the moving process being worked on, as I was really worried that the house would sit on the market forever. As I have been telling myself, things will work out the way they are meant to be! The buyer is going to let us stay in the house until it is time for us to move in June, which was a great relief as well. There have been a bunch of inspections the past few days, but it is nice to be able to leave the house a mess again. :)

Raining

Someone got his first umbrella, and is very excited. He recently discovered the movie Cars, and is a big fan of all of the characters, so he picked out this umbrella when he got to choose. I think he has a crush on Sally.

Check one off the list!

I just checked on the status of my teaching license application for Missouri, and I have been approved to get my CAREER license!  I like the fact that it doesn't expire until 2109!!!  Missouri definitely does things a bit differently....as my certification area is Science Education, which I really don't have any interest in teaching anymore. But as long as I have some sort of Missouri teaching license, I can teach computer classes in Missouri now. Yay!!

On the market!

Brian and I did a ton of work around the house this weekend, getting it ready to be put on the market. The realtor suggested moving a couple of pieces of furniture out of the house, so we decided to get a storage space for a few months until the house is under contract. Saturday involved renting a uHaul and then several trips to the storage space, moving furniture and many boxes. I like that I am able to get some things packed up a little ahead of time, but it made me realize how much stuff we have, and what a pain it is going to be to move. Andrew loved, loved, loved the uhaul truck, and thought it was so fun that his daddy was driving it.

Sunday involved a lot of touch up painting, more packing, general organizing, moving furniture, and cleaning the carpets. I also had to patch a couple of spots where the 'popcorn' ceiling had been damaged. I will just put it on the record that I HATE popcorn ceilings, and if anyone knows of a good way to repair it, PLEASE let me know.

Is the house ready? Not quite, but we're close. I feel like it will show well, as long as there aren't toys all over the place. But it is now officially on the market!

Suckered

Sometimes you just get suckered into it.
